CDL Endorsements in Salt Lake City

An endorsement is a focused add-on to a licence you already hold or are working towards. Each one opens up work other drivers cannot take. TNT is an FMCSA-registered training provider and a third-party testing site, so the training and, where one is required, the test happen in the same place.

Hazmat (H)

The Hazmat endorsement lets you haul hazardous materials — fuel, chemicals and other regulated freight that moves constantly and that many carriers need covered. Because it carries added responsibility, that freight frequently pays a premium over standard loads.

Hazmat is a knowledge endorsement — there is no skills test — but there are federal steps:

• ELDT Hazmat theory training from a registered provider. TNT is one, and it is required for a first-time H endorsement.
• Pass the Hazmat written knowledge test. We prepare you for it.
• A TSA background check with fingerprinting, which you apply for separately. We tell you exactly how.

Doubles/Triples (T)

The T endorsement lets you pull more than one trailer — the setup many less-than-truckload and line-haul carriers run, which opens up routes and employers that single-trailer drivers cannot take.

• Study and pass the Doubles/Triples written knowledge test. We prepare you for it.
• No separate on-road skills test for the endorsement itself.
• You need a Class A CDL to actually pull doubles — we confirm you are set up correctly.

ELDT assessment

Entry-Level Driver Training is federally required for all first-time CDL applicants. TNT is a registered provider and submits your completion to the FMCSA registry for you. If you are training with us for a Class A or Class B, it is built into your program — the standalone assessment is for drivers who need the requirement met on its own.

Equipment assessment

Already licensed but need to prove you can safely operate a specific rig, for a new job or a carrier requirement? An equipment assessment puts you behind the wheel and documents that you are cleared.

When you would need one

• A carrier wants confidence you can handle their specific truck or trailer setup before you start.
• An employer or insurer requires a third-party evaluation and sign-off.
• You want seat time on unfamiliar equipment so you are confident from day one.

How it works

• Tell us the equipment and what your carrier or job requires — we tailor the assessment to it.
• Behind-the-wheel evaluation with our examiner: inspection, maneuvers and road handling on that specific rig.
• Documented sign-off you can hand to the employer or insurer.
