How is TNT Trucking School different from other CDL schools?
TNT is a family-owned school that has trained Utah drivers for over 20 years. You get one-on-one instruction and individual range time — not a crowded classroom — plus on-site third-party CDL testing, so you test in the same truck you trained in, with no separate DMV trip. Training is available in both English and Spanish.
Is a high school diploma or GED required to attend TNT Trucking School?
A high school diploma or GED is generally not required to earn your CDL. Enrollment requirements can vary, so contact us and we will confirm exactly what you need to get started.
Does TNT Trucking School offer online classes?
The behind-the-wheel training that earns your CDL happens in person, on the range and on the road here in Salt Lake City. The required ELDT theory portion is delivered online through our training partner. Contact us and we will explain how the classroom and driving portions fit together.
What training programs does TNT Trucking School offer?
TNT offers Class A CDL training as a 3-week accelerated program or a 6-week standard program, plus Class B training, refresher courses, and endorsement prep. All programs are ELDT-compliant. Call us and we will help you choose the program that fits your goals and schedule.
What do I need to enroll at TNT Trucking School?
A valid driver’s license, DOT medical certificate, and proof of identity. You must be at least 18, able to read and speak English at a working level, and pass a drug screen. We help you through every step, including the medical exam. Enrollment is open year-round — you do not have to wait for a class to start.
Do I need my DOT medical card before I start?
No — most students don’t have one yet. We’ll point you to a certified examiner and walk you through the exam so it’s done before training starts.
Can I train while keeping my current job?
Yes. Many of our students train while working. We offer scheduling flexibility and rolling enrollment, so you can start when it works for you. Talk to us about your schedule and we will find an option that fits.
Does TNT Trucking School offer financing or payment options?
Yes. We work with student financing partners and can set up payment plans for qualified applicants. We also accept Utah Workforce Services (DWS) funding for eligible students — for those who qualify it can cover the cost of training. We’ll go over the options that fit your situation when you call.
How long does CDL training take?
Class A CDL training takes as little as 3 weeks in our accelerated program, or 6 weeks in our standard program. The right pace depends on your schedule and how quickly you are ready to test.
